Heute möchte ich euch alle Kurse des Clay Carnival Las Vegas kurz vorstellen.
Today I’d like to share all the classes, that will be taught at the Clay Carnival Las Vegas this year.
Nun, über meinen Kurs “Sorbet Pendants” hab ich schon genug geredet – die Details dazu könnt ihr in den vorherigen Blog-Posts nachlesen. Hier nun die Kurse der anderen 7 Lehrer.
Well, I wrote quite a lot about my class “Sorbet Pendants in previous posts, so I will focus this one on the projects of my 7 fellow teachers:
Donna Kato – Flutter Rings:
Donna liebt diese verrückten Ringe und sie findet, es ist eine gute Idee, sie in Las Vegas als Kurs anzubieten. Eine Seite des Ringes ist gestreift, die andere schwarz und texturiert. Eine leuchtend rote Tropfenform ist auf der schwarzen Seite angebracht.
Donna loves these funky rings so she thought she’d like to teach you how to make them in November! One side of the flutter is striped, the other side is black and textured. A bright red teardrop is attached to the black side.
Sylvie Péraud – Colorful Pendant:
Sylvie tat sich etwas schwer dabei, einen geeigneten Kurs für den diesjährigen Carnival zu finden. Ihre Grundidee war das Spiel mit Form und Farbmischungen. Sie probierte herum und heraus kamen ein paar lustige Ohrringe. Da diese aber sehr viel Zeit in Anspruch nehmen, entschied sie sich für den sehr ähnlichen Anhänger.
Sylvie said that she had a hard time coming up with a project that was fun to make and interesting too. Her first aim was playing with color mixes and looking for new shapes. She fiddled around and made funny earrings. But, as earrings take more time than we actually get, she changed the project to this pendant, which is greatly inspired by the earrings.
Natalia Gárcia de Leániz – Funky Desert Brooches:
Natalias Broschen bestehen aus mehreren Schichten, die spielerisch Farbe, Transfers und Oberflächen-Strukturen miteienander kombinieren. Ihr werdet lernen, wie man mit ein paar Textur-Werkzeugen diese wunderschöne Kiesartige Oberflächen-Struktur erzeugen kann.
These brooches consist of several layers that we will combine playing with colors, transfers and different surface treatments. You will learn how to get a gravel finish without using any texture tools to create your own colorful desert!
Judy Belcher – Spring-y Bracelets:
Judy sagt, dass sie sich in letzter Zeit “frühlingshaft” fühlt. Auch wenn der Kurs im Herbst stattfindet, denkt sie, dass diese Armreifen sich hervorragend als Weihnachtsgeschenke eignen. In diesem Kurs lernt ihr, wie diese frühlingshaften Armreifen hergestellt werden.
Judy says she has been feeling quite “Spring-Y” lately. Although the class will be in the fall, she thinks that these bracelets would make wonderful Christmas gifts! In this class you will learn the secrets to making these “springy” bracelets, complemented with perfectly formed striped balls.
Leslie Blackford - Le Carnival Box:
Die Worte Zirkus und Karneval erzeugen automatisch die Assoziation von Magie und unerwartetem Vergnügen. Jeder hat eine andere Vorstellung davon. In diesem Kurs werdet ihr ein einzigartiges Kunstwerk erforschen und gestalten. Leslie freut sich sehr auf den Kurs und ist auf eure Kunstwerke gespannt.
The words Circus or carnival automatically bring up thoughts of wonder and unexpected delights. We all have different images in our mind of what those things are. In this class we will explore, design and create a unique “jack in the box-ish” piece of art. Leslie is excited about this class and she can’t wait to see what this especially creative group is inspired to make.
Kim Cavender – Wood Gone Wild!:
Kim kombiniert sehr gerne die Natur mit dem Fantastischen. In der Art wie, wenn Mutter Natur und Dr. Seuss zusammen ein Kind hätten. Dieser Kurs fokussiert Holz, Zweige und Samenkapseln. Ihr werdet lernen, realistisch aussehende Zweige und Holzstücke, wie man sie auf dem Waldboden findet herzustellen – und zwar ohne eine Abdruckform dafür zu benutzen. Farbe und Detail bekommen die Kunstwerke durch Samen, Sprosse, Pflanzen und Pilze. Falls ihr gerne ein Schmuckstück machen möchtet, so wir Kin euch gerne zeigen, wie man diese Teile leicht in Ringe, Armreifen oder Anhänger verwandeln kann. Dieser Kurs bietet viele Möglichkeiten und was ihr daraus macht wird am Ende eure eigene Kreativität entscheiden.
One of Kim’s favorite things is to combine nature with the fantastical. Kind of like what would happen if Mother Nature and Dr. Seuss had a love child. In this class, we’ll focus on wood, sticks, and the random pod. You’ll learn to make realistic sticks and found wood pieces from the forest floor without the use of molds (although it’s fine to being a couple of those if you find an interesting twig you like). Color and interest will be added with seeds, shoots, plants, and assorted fungi that spring purely from your imagination. If you’d like to make jewelry, I’ll show you how to turn these pieces into rings, bracelets, pendant, or necklace components. This class offers lots of possibilities for more sculptural work as well. What you make will be up to you.
